Dr. Figueroa received a degree in biology at Pontifical Catholic University, Ponce, Puerto Rico before going on to earn her medical degree from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) School of Medicine, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She is board certified in internal medicine, and a member of the American College of Physicians.
“I knew I wanted to work in healthcare after I was immersed in the biomedical field. Research is very interesting, but I was missing the doctor-patient interaction which I believe is the core to change healthcare,” said Dr. Figueroa, who feels that healthcare should be patient-focused.
In her spare time, Dr. Figueroa enjoys spending time with her husband, cooking, and practicing yoga.
