Jay Lao, who comes from a family of healthcare workers, chose to pursue a career in medicine after realizing the positive difference he could make. He often treats patients like family and says establishing relationships is his favorite part of his profession. “Everyone has a story. I feel that seniors have a lot more wisdom to share from their life experiences,” he says. He wants patients to know he is open-minded and likes helping them make informed decisions regarding their health. His ideal healthcare system is “more focused on prevention rather than cure.” In his free time, he loves fishing and spending time with family.
Jay Lao is also a proud army veteran, having served the Philippines for ten years in the Medical Corps.
