About Melissa Elizee
Growing up, Dr. Melissa Elizee loved volunteering at the nursing home where her mother worked. “I got to learn so much about the type of work and patients that she would work with, which made me develop a strong interest in geriatrics,” she explains. She adds, “I take pleasure in providing person-centered care.” Her favorite part of her profession is “making a difference” in the lives of her patients and “educating them about their health.” She considers herself an “active listener” and likes getting to know her patients on a personal level. “I advocate for my patients and engage them in their care plans,” she says.
In her free time, Dr. Elizee loves spending time with her husband and two sons. She also enjoys kayaking and reading.
