About Sumit Kumar
Dr. Sumit Kumar attended the Armed Forces Medical College, one of India’s top medical schools. After completing his degree, he practiced at the National Health Trust in the United Kingdom and obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians, England. In 2008, he began his Internal Medicine residency at the Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia.
“I try to make a difference in my patient’s lives at every step. That involves listening to their problems, treating them empathetically and following up with them to make sure that they are doing well,” says Dr. Kumar, who was inspired to become a physician by his grandfather who held health camps for people unable to afford medical care.
In his spare time, Dr. Kumar enjoys spending time with his wife and two children as well as practicing mindfulness meditation and playing lawn tennis.
