About Norma Barbosa Rivera
Dr. Norma Barbosa Rivera was inspired to become a physician by the most important person in her life — her grandmother. "She always told me to be different, to work hard, and never be afraid of the future," she says. Her grandmother's unwavering encouragement and selfless sacrifices fueled Norma's dream of becoming a doctor. Though her grandmother passed away before seeing her accepted into medical school, Norma continued pursuing their shared dream in her honor. "Working with older adults allows me to honor her memory every day," she says. She is passionate about helping seniors maintain their health, independence, and quality of life while providing them with the compassion and dignity they deserve.
Norma builds relationships through empathy, respect, and active listening — treating every patient as if they were a member of her own family. "Trust is the foundation of excellent medical care," she says. She works every day to strengthen that bond, creating an environment where patients feel comfortable, heard, and confident coming to her first when they need guidance. "I will always listen, support, and fight to ensure my patients receive the care they need and deserve," she says.
When not with patients, Norma cherishes time with her three boys — going to the movies, taking family trips, and enjoying weekends in Orlando. A devoted Disney fan, she loves Disney Cruises and exploring the parks with her family. She also finds joy and grounding in attending church.
